Membership

What is membership?

Becoming a member at Refuge does at least two things. One, it gives you an opportunity to say symbolically that you are “all in”—that this is your community and church family, and that you want to work out and live out your discipleship to Jesus with these people.

Two, becoming a member means that you are a part of the group of people who are committed to seeing Refuge flourish. Members do this by praying, serving, giving, and participating in congregational business meetings.

How to become a member

We know membership is not right for everyone at Refuge—for a season or forever. We want you to know that if you’re with us, we consider you a part of the family.

If you would like to become a member, follow the three steps below.

Step 1

Watch this Teaching

This sermon discusses who we are as a community and our mission—being transformed through life with Jesus.

Originally given as a part of a class about Small Groups, you’ll notice in the teaching an encouragement to take a step toward spiritual community. If you are not already a part of a Small Group at Refuge, we encourage you to consider it as a part of your membership journey.

Step 2

Membership Form & Covenant

Here you’ll be able to tell us a little bit about your journey so far as a follower of Jesus. This is also where you will affirm your desire to live a life of worship, in community, on mission with Jesus.

You may want to review the Statement of Faith and Constitution & Bylaws before submitting the form.

Step 3

Connect With Us

We want to meet you, hear your story, and celebrate with you God’s activity in your life. You’ll also have a chance to ask questions about Refuge.
